Day-trip to Varenna, Lake Como

Imagine
We went to Milan for a city-break and we decided to take a day-trip to explore the surroundings. After a lot of searching, we have chosen Lake Como. Even though the "pearl" of Lake Como is Bellagio, we didn't get the chance to go there, but Varenna was all we could have asked for. If you decide to stay for more than one day, you can easily access all the villages of the lake by boat. From Milan you get there by train and it costs around 5 euro(in one hour). So it's really worth it! We went there in April, so the weather was spectacular, warm and sunny. There is no itinerary you should make for this trip, you should just enjoy walking and sightseeing. But also, do not skip Villa Monastero, it is beautiful! There are a lot of great places to stop, just admire the scenery, relax and eat a tasty Gelato. That's what the Italian "la dolce vita" is all about:)    “ Traveling –

Alpine Escapes- Pittoresque villages in Tyrol

Imagine
In winter, most of them are popular ski resorts, white snow covering the enchanting hills and offering breathtaking views. Tourists from all over the world come here to enjoy skiing, snowboarding or other winter sports.  But for those who need a quiet and peaceful summer, these villages are the best option. We started our trip in Stumm because our accomodation was there, then we drove to Zell am Ziller, Kaltenbach  and Mayrhofen (this last one holds an annual Snowbombing festival- a weeklong mix of skiing and having fun with world-class DJs).  One thing to really appreciate is how nice and friendly people are. There was no local who wouldn't greet us or smile. They seem to be living quite peacefully; waking up in the morning, going for a run, breathing fresh air, enjoying the mountains and grabing a cup of coffee with their neighbours. These people really appreciate nature- a lot of hikers everywhere, from little kids to elders exploring the magnificent Alps. No pollution,

Austrian Lake District- Chasing the Hidden Paradise 2

Imagine
Try to think about crowded and fast-paced cities. Then replace that image with nature, freedom and peace.. That is what Austrian Lake District is all about. Located in Upper Austria you will find jaw-dropping scenery that makes you wish to stay there forever. Charming towns, crystal-clear water, fresh air and intimidating mountains are the top things that make this region perfect to recharge your batteries and just relax. We started our tour from Zell am See, Hallstatt and then headed North to Wolfgangsee and Mondsee. Zell am See This is considered to be the alpine lake with the clearest water, so we had to check it ourselves. And we were not disappointed. Great spot to relax, swim, enjoy water activities or just admire the beautiful scenery and the colorful town near the lake.

Austria- Chasing the Hidden Paradise 1 (Innsbruck)

Imagine
When you say Austria, everyone thinks of Vienna. Of course, who wouldn't?  Austria's Capital City, Vienna is full of charm, history and elegance, impressing buildings and landmarks.     But for me, the real freedom is hidden into the mountains. The largest part of the country is occupied by the relatively young part of the Alps and the highest mountain is the Grossglockner (3797 m).    Our first stop was in "The Capital of the Alps"- Innsbruck, a small city in Tyrol land. The name means "bridge over the Inn"- Inn representing the river that flows through the city.     The picture says it all. A beautiful and pittoresque city surrounded by huge mountains and full of colorful buildings. But there is more. There is no suitable way to describe the unique feeling this place gives you. The Nature. The Tourists wandering all around. The fresh air. The locals.     The first place not to be missed is the Old Town. As you stroll along the ma
